One of the other projects that has been keeping me busy is a new play entitled The Meeting in Durango, written and directed by an starring Ray Malus. Our opening November 14th will mark the World Premiere of this entertaining 3 act romantic comedy.
I play the role of one of the little old ladies who lives in a hotel in Durango. The other 'little old lady' is indeed just that. Nancy must weigh 85 lbs. dripping wet, and she just celebrated her 90th birthday. The part was written for her, and she is adorable.
This is my first real straight book show. I was cast 3 years ago in Arsenic and Old Lace, but had to withdraw when my knee went so bad, and I also had 14 short lines in Inherit the Wind about 10 years ago, but this show is really my first full blown performance in a non-musical.
It has been an interesting experience watching the show develop, and I am proud to be part of it. The show plays at the St. Martins of the Field Theater Guild on Winnetka just south of Sherman Way.
